I mean from 18-35. If they can't win them over policy, and can't win them with celebrities, their last choice will be to winning over via their lizard-brains.

If they find two 35 year old women, the Presidential Candidate being an Asian girl who would agree to be barefoot her entire campaign (and if she wins, her entire Presidency), as well as a beautiful blonde haired girl as her running mate, then that would turn every single incel and coomer in the country to vote for them, policies be damned (and this means /r9k/ actually supporting them). They will also both be single, and thus "available" to their new voting demographic they are pandering to. The logic is, why would they try to win a losing battle instead of appealing to the lizard-brain? As well as eye-candy for the next 4 to 8 years?

This would be a much stronger strategy for Democrats if they wish to win by gaining a new demographic overnight, since their old demographic will still vote for them no matter what (as well as having a diversity pick).

So, what does /r9k/ think of that plan?

The problem is that this strikes at the heart of their leadership's malicious intent. They are corrupt and both condescend to and disdain working class men. If the tone does not betray a disdain for masculinity you will upset the feminist religion, and if it support socialist policy you will lose the backing of the financial elite who lobby and contribute campaign money. It's not like Democrats aren't aware of the issue, but it's like doing surgery on yourself. Depends on what you mean by failure and what you mean by liberalism. America since it's inception has been and continues to be "liberal" as in capitalist or socialist, one of the two. he political terms these days are becoming too vague and sloppy to distinguish between what any of us are talking about. I think if we're going to have a more fruitful discussion on politics we're going to have to seriously define things like "left" or "right" or neoliberal or neocon, and liberal and conservative and capitalist and socialist and communist and more. Nobody knows what anyone else is talking about when we use these words.

Is a socialist someone who believes in government control? or are they someone who believes in worker co-ownership of a business? ask different people, get different answers. There's no way to reach a political consensus without a clearer and consistent vocabulary.

If a Democrat seriously ran on reorganizing all welfare and social programs into one Universal Base Income for everybody they could win. Social security, disability, etc just roll all the funds into one program and campaign on making it "fair for all Americans" they would steam roll the Republicans. I hate both sides but that's what I would tell the lefties to do. Most of the population is going to be collecting social security checks for the next 30 years because of the 100 million baby boomers anyways.

Let's be honest, there's only one way that the Democrats could come back from the brink, and that's by pledging 100% of the budget to funding Israel.

This is what Marx said. Socialism as a movement in all its various forms is unified by the argument that society should be organized working people and communities on the basis that they contribute. Typically socialist economies are much more economically fair and prosperous than capitalist economies: the USSR was a much more effective economy than modern Russia, China's current socialist model works very effectively. This is why America transitions to a state socialist model with fdr in the new deal. It has, since Reagan been moving away from that, and the result has been a measurable stagnation in wealth, economic growth and satisfaction amongst the working class. If you prefer any notion of freedom, or you like superior economic growth, or you believe work is a strong justification to recieve rewards in life then you have lots to benefit from a socialist system, and it's the west's movement away from this socialist system since the 70's that is currently felt today as the big mistake that people are wanting to claw back. Consumerist neoliberalism over new deal socialism was the mistake, and people have been hungry to go back ever since. it's what underlies this hunger in the zeitgeist for the "traditional" it's where the intent to turn back the clock originates. People are hungry for their socialism back and don't know what to call it, but all the polling suggests that unions, taxing the rich supporting the working class, worker cooperatives, government healthcare, that's what people want even in the "right" wing parties. People are gunning down corporate ceos in blackstone and in insurance and cheering about it. What's more communist than that?
