Last time I checked, China has like 200,000,000 more men than women thanks to the one-child policy, which only ended officially in the last 10-15 years, I think. That means that there are hundreds of millions of men who simply cannot, under any circumstances, get a wife, and possibly won't ever get laid. India is suffering a similar fate because little girls were killed en masse, though it wasn't state policy.
