Nobody will shut up about Epstein online. So they are looking to shut people up or have id on people who complain.
Predators and narcissists always project. The politicians and powerbrokers on the list or owned by people on the list call you a predator for standing against their attempts to censor the public.
There is also the fact that for some sites, they are asking for ID, credit card, or both. If they get the ID they have data to sell. If they get the card, they will conveniently keep it on file "in case you want to purchase things from them". Both is a jackpot.
Think of the children has always been the best excuse for every erosion of rights. Half of people don't have or like kids, even their own, though so don't know if it will work this time.
Turning the internet into television again would be really convenient. I do agree that kids shouldn't have access to porn or to pollute adult places with their antics, but the method to prevent that is to punish the parents that don't keep a handle on their kids. Lock down the ipad and put the computer in the living room.
