When I was six I saw Ghost in the shells and liked the violence and robot tank scene.
Then when I hit highschool I watched Elfen lied because 4chan, the AMV hell series made me became a weeb.

strawberry panic, i was just bored in middle school and wanted something to watch so I searched up anime on youtube and it was like the first thing that came up, watched it with each episode being split into like 10 parts

not on tv? i dont know why you need this specific information but it was Bleach on Youtube. Back then it was the only way to watch animu for free, if you didnt mind 480p episodes that were split into two different episodes.
Everytime I think about how good "back then" we had it I remember how much tehnology sucked
