i have the same problem, i need to get good at drawing so i can make a comic book i wanna make.
drawing is just so damn boring. i keep telling myself "tomorrow I'll draw 1000 cubes" then i never do it because of how boring that seems.
i have no discipline, no self control. I'm feral

i dont even find drawing boring, its just frustrating to not be able to do anything at all, its the same with learning to play an instrument i think except drawing is probably harder to get into, at least from my experience

in my experience learning an instrument is instantly rewarding, you learn a cover, practice it a few times and all of a sudden you know how to play one of your favorite songs and playing an instrument feels good, it's like meditative, like the vibrations of the strings (if you play the guitar) feels really good.
drawing to me is just a chore at the start, all you draw looks like shit which is frustrating and demoralizing and practicing the basics like cubes is boring and by the time you finish that you have no will to try and draw something, like do a study or whatever.

instruments are easier than drawing, the only reason furries got so good at drawing is because they had a hard on the whole time, they had a motivator a really powerful one, the need to see some OC furry porn is probably such a strong motivator and it's probably even really rewarding, you draw your furry porn and then you get to nut. it's different for everyone else, you have to literally enjoy drawing or else the climb to getting just okay at drawing is a steep ass hill.

Ask yourself, "why are you studying art?". You might say you're "studying so you can get good enough to draw a comic". But.. when can you really say that you're "good enough"? Art is one of those things that you never stop learning. So, just make art for fun, and study at the same time. Make the comic, you don't have to be amazing at art to start anything. This mindset of "I need to get good to start doing something" will make you hate practicing it, because artists will never think they're good enough. And then, the whole reason you wanted to start art (to make a comic) will be lost.

i am not that anon but i think it's hard because there is not really anything to be gained by doing shitty art, with learning an instrument even playing something terribly is a step towards improvement, and a necessary one too
with art it feels like drawing what youd like to and getting better are mutually exclusive until you get to a certain skill level, or maybe they're actually always just mutually exclusive
i guess that's why furry artists are so shit

i want to have cool sort of fisheye lens looking dynamic action poses and shit. you know like multiple vanishing points distorting the images in a tasteful manner.
i suck ass at drawing right now and i want to be able to draw well so the comic looks good. it's going to take forever, i started trying to learn in 2024, drew 3 trees and a few rocks and cubes then never opened krita again.

lol I have the opposite experience. I've been trying to learn guitar for like two years on and off and I never got anywhere cause I find it so frustrating. Whereas drawing I've only done it a few times but every time it was fun and meditative like you say. I want to play guitar though I don't care about being good at drawing.

I think drawing is just inherently harder.

guitar is only hard if you're learning music theory and the caged system and all that. there's an intuitive route you can reach by learning covers, you learn intuitively based on all the songs you've learned what chords and notes go well with each other.
the fastest way to get to that level is through learning covers using guitarpro. it's like learning to draw through tracing. after you get to that level you reach a wall where the caged system can help you, it's the improv wall, you can write songs while at the foot of this wall and even make solos, but you can't improvise without learning some theory, unless you're like learning by ear which is the hardest difficulty setting.
