I live in Finland and here nobody hated gays in the early 2000s. We lived in what I call a normal state: some people were fags, some people weren't, nobody paid any attention to it.
Then the Pride movement suddenly blew up and got HUGE.
Now people either actively promoted Pride or adopted a negative stance.
This is how divide et impera works
