What I'm saying, Anon, is that you said his advice only works if you're not depressed. I said his advice worked for me and I was indeed depressed. You then claimed I must not have been REALLY depressed. This is called the No True Scotsman fallacy, and people don't like it because it's bad practice to change your argument to dodge a flat refutation, or to deny the refutation on the grounds that it doesn't fit your argument.
I was depressed. Truly. I felt powerless about my situation and was drinking and self-harming to cope. Reading his book was one of the first steps I took to changing my circumstances. Benzo coma or not, Jordan Peterson knows how to write a fucking self-help book.
