It's been critcized by countless economists and even tested to catastrophic results in Kansas from what I remember. It's not that there's no truth to it, but it's way overstated. Either way, there are efforts at a global corporate tax rate coming from the EU, but from what I've heard the Trump administration wants to block it.
Just to put it in a broader context, I don't think the system as it is set up will last much longer regardless, unless there's some AI AGI breakthrough that completely transforms labor. Demographics being one significant reason. Of course what comes next could be much worse.
