Do they, really? I know a couple of people who own parrots. But by what google says, smaller parrots live up to 15 years.

Yeah. My grandma has an Amazon who died recently that was older than me, and I am almost 40. I am kinda glad, not because I didn't like him, but if she died then someone would need to care for him and parrots are not easy pets. I don't have the energy for to do it correctly. Parrots are really cool though. Personally I like rainbow lorikeets.

There is a lot of variation. I know budgies live like 10 and cockatiels like 20. The bigger ones tend to be more long lived I think.
