I just started to assume that she's only ever being nice just to be friendly, never because she loves me. It keeps everything comfortable and easy for me. No need to be neurotic about if she was implying something, she was just being friendly. I will admit, sometimes it seems like she really does love me, but I don't want to take a chance. If she really did love me, she'd tell me.

ask them basic questions about their views on politics, philosophy, tshe natural science, art, religion/spirituality, etc.
the intellectual disgust caused by their answers will make you fall out of love right quick
