what's the psychology behind sam hyde & why he became an edgy, nihilistic agent of chaos?

all I can really pick up from based on some lazy skimming is that he's basically a failed artsy theatre kid gone rogue (possibly holds some kind of resentment against his arts uni & their crowd for some reason? and hence going the other way out of spite?) - and possibly something about a parental divorce/daddy issues that were ramping up at the time?

There is a non-zero chance he was raped as a kid. Im not even saying that to mock him or anything it's something he occasionally alludes to and I'm fairly certain that's the real reason he freaked out on the Canadian guy.

I used to be a fan of his, then I gradually came to dislike him, but anymore I simply pity him. He's a very damaged human being that overcompensates for what he went through with edgy humor. If that was were it ended it wouldn't be particularly noteworthy but what makes him rather obnoxious is how he's apparently made it his life's mission to get revenge on the world by being as off-putting and abrasive as he can. To his friends, his parents, his fans, his enemies, his audience. Everyone's a target.

Still all that aside "Billy and the clown" and "how I survived highschool" were top notch. He should do more writting.

In what way? He can be very ironic but I don't think most of his stuff is like the standup or trolling. What is he doing to his friends that you dislike?

He was actually on a fairly positive trajectory until Tim Heidecker (from tim and eric) got his show on Adult Swim cancelled. Now he has several different projects going on and has been making appearances on quite a few popular podcasts and youtube channels. He bounces between ironic humor and serious political commentator, often both at the same time.

Sam Hyde is clearly retarded but he makes up for it by being very driven. He ruined his chances of a mainstream career in comedy by ranting about da jooz, but he pressed on anyway with his e-celeb status, for example.

I get the impression from both his humor and said drive that at a certain point in his life he genuinely stopped giving a shit. He looks with disdain at society so he is not bothered by what normies think of him, as long as he is not a sell out and doesn't lose the respect of his close friends and his fans who are generally cynical young men.

In his podcasts and sketches he expresses how he dislikes where western civilization is headed. So we have the mentality of someone who skirted close to the line of being a total nihilist, but in the end decided that even if 99% is shit, the remaining 1% is worth saving, and he does so with gusto because why does it matter what the shit thinks of him. He kind of mocks nihilists and people who have totally given up as well in his sketches.

If you had ever actually watched and listened to hours worth of his ideas and opinions then you'd know he's actually the opposite of nihilistic, he has expressed a hopeful positive view. He's not actually that crazy once you've peeked under the surface, he's pretty traditional and seems to believe in a stoic and positive yet realistic attitude towards life.

his content used to be transgressive and insightful (in between all of the autistic cringe). i actually learned things about myself and society from his early content. i thought he was a genius and extremely perceptive. nobody else was doing what he did, so it felt special. he puts words to things many felt implicitly but couldnt accurately describe given the language and social mores of the day.
now, the world around has changed in his direction and as a result his content stopped being transgressive. the in-jokes and double-meaning (and the irony) lost their effectiveness. he's just a chud now, same as many others. his jokes are still edgy, but they are not funny anymore.
