if you have a genuine interest and curiosity about something I don't see why you shouldn't invest time in it. Whether you're 25 or 80 doesn't matter. Just have fun.

Yes. Not because of your age but because otaku culture has been dead for a while. You won't find others with genuine passion nowadays, since most of those are jaded and gave up on on engaging with nu-anime fans.

being into anime now is all about being the obscurity master, it has nothing to do with actually liking anime. watching the show is something you do to pick up on references made outside the show.

Depends what you mean by otaku culture. Getting into the average shonen airing every season? Every child and manchild is doing that and won't care. Getting into some obscure bullshit from before the 10s? Only old people do that so you'd fit in
