Been over 20 years now, haven't regretted a single day of it, myself. I think a lot of young kids these days rush into things however, without doing any of the proper self-analysis and professional counseling prior. Sometimes I even hear about people medically transitioning before socially transitioning. I'm concerned at the lowered barriers to receiving life-changing medical procedures and hormones and the regrets a lot of these kids will feel because they made a rush decision without all the data and mental processing first. But I'm just an old fart.

I can't say for others but I have intense AAP and it got exacerbated by things like yaoi and porn at young age. I was always a tomboyish girl and social awkward so I get intense urges to transition. The difference is that I am aware, I know I would never be a man, or pass since I am extremely short and despite my dressing choices, I have things like wide hips and a very high voice.
