The cheap one I got for free.

Depends how drunk I am. Ramshackle Glory is always up there until I get mad at anarchists and communists again.

>Song you're learning
Whatever song I am asked to learn by the children I work with.

>Why do you play guitar
Because I have terrible fine motor skills and forced myself to train them up by playing guitar, plus I wanted to have something to do for my future kids.

I am not very good at guitar and only had one formal lesson.

this is my favorite guitar, the old esp logo, the rounded headstock, string through body, beautiful shade of orange with rosewood fretboard.
i want this guitar so bad, but it's not for sale anywhere, maybe in some random guitar shop somewhere in the world that doesn't have an online store. i was too broke to buy it when it first came out back in like 2014-2016. i'd even be content with the blue varient.
they sell a modern version of it, but it's like purple with some kind of black border that fades into the purple. i don't like the modern one i want this one.

that being said, i haven't played the guitar in years, i've picked up and strummed a few chords on my acoustic, but i haven't really played in years and all my skill has atrophied, i'm a beginner again. although i couldn't improvise respectably in the past, i still had the skill to play difficult songs, like impassion by polyphia and some of the chon songs. that was so long ago, it's been about 9 years since i've played, i don't even have an amp anymore.

I started playing because I always liked music, though I was born poor and had to follow a 'safer' path. Now, I'm unemployed and can't get anyone to hire me so I decided to try to make a living with music.

If I fail, I'll just kill myself, since there won't be any path or cope left.

I thought I had potential when I was a teenager, now I'm marginally better than I was aged 15 and am in my 30s. I just play because I love it now.

what's the deal with that bridge?
it's not a floating bridge, i've always seen these as unapealing, you can only pitch down with it, why not just get a floating bridge or even just a normal non floating bridge? why this weird inbetween, i never understood why these exist.

It's fun and I like being able to enhance cool songs I like by being able to play parts of them. It makes music more physical.

I'm just getting back into it, actually. Well, for the umpteenth time. I have a really hard time getting anywhere with guitar. Even when I practice everyday, I sort of have ADD with my guitar and I just grab it and fuck around and noodle around for 1-2 hours. And I get bored of songs super fast after learning them, so I don't retain them. So I've gotten nowhere with it and still have the skillset of someone who's 3 months in.

I want to own a Gibson J-45 or Hummingbird eventually. I currently have a semi-hollowbody Gretsch that I think is pretty cool, as well as a Takamine GD51-BSB, a Yamaha G-55, and an Ovation electric acoustic guitar that doesn't work that I want to try to get fixed. Not super high tier stuff but it works for me since I mostly play in my bedroom.

Impossible to say, I like too many.

I was trying to learn the song "Taylor's First 8 String" by Panucci's Pizza by ear since I couldn't find tabs for it on the internet. All these midwest emo songs use such odd tunings but I think I figured it out.
>why do you play guitar
Music is pretty much my main interest and I was always interested in trying to make my own music. I think something involving music would be the only job I would enjoy doing.

Favorite band lately is Slow Crush, on a big shoegaze kick lately but I've always been mostly into metal
I haven't covered a song in a long time i mostly just write shit
Here's a recent thing on a bit of that shoegaze vibe but I feel like you can still hear the metal coming through:

I used to be really into guitars and music. I even had a few bands for some years, playing regularly.
A few months ago our drummer was robbed and lost pretty much all of his savings. We gave him some money to help him, but he obviusly coudnt continue paying for rehearsals so we stopped.
I then had to change jobs because the company I used to work for closed and fired us all. I got another job but it sucks and I always have to stay until late every day, no more time for hobbies.
It's been months since I've had almost no desire to listen to music or play guitar, I just feel I see no point in doing so. Sometimes I accidentally listen to some of my favorite songs or artists, and I start crying.
Yes, adult life sucks. I hope you anons never have to go through all of this. Enjoy music and guitar as much as you can.
