You don't. Some things don't heal, I've found. I lost my best friend about four years ago (cancer). The only thing I've ever managed are to temporarily distract myself or mind-altering drugs. The latter aren't a permanent solution but they do work (sometimes) for a bit.

My best friend killed himself 17 years ago when we were 14. I still remember him, especially when I'm drunk.

Truth bro, my best friend killed himself when I was 15, I'm 18 now and it still hurts. I blame that for the reason my life is ruined. I know I can change but it's hard. I remember the few weeks after he killed himself, I assumed that I had no reason to live but I hoped that I was being dramatic. Three years later, I still can't find happiness, so I guess I was right.

His parents were such dickheads to him and almost identical to mine. Just forcing him to get a job and always angry and him for not having a job or else youre kicked out on the street. His mom seriously deserves that image of her sons splattered brains all over his room she was a real bitch.
