The concept of the Puer Aeternus has gotten a lot of attention, and this whole board is steeped in the Puer mindset.
Everyone here has their head in the clouds. They can't stop talking about grand heady things like politics, the movement of society, radical ideals, philosophy and how the world works. But they can't focus enough on day-to-day life. It's too boring, or even a humiliation to live for them.
They explain away the dissonance between their grand ideals and unimpressive lives alternatively through self-deprecation: that they are depressed, unmotivated failures, and by self-aggrandization: that their lives are a choice or a statement against the system. And they seem to believe both these things at the same time somehow.

It's a special kind of hell that these people have inflicted on themselves. Unlike a lot of people, they have an outlook on life where they can see the world through big ideals, but that very same trait keeps them from acting on their ideals and keeps them passive and powerless.
