How to stay calm in a fucked up situation? Help me stay calm. I can't afford to come across as too vulnerable. I'm in deep shit

Fucked up in what regard? You can probably share super vague details. Legal, relational, familial, or other? In general though you should never avoid problems, run away from people, or blame other things/people for things they never caused. This alone eliminates most bad problems in life that cause stress, as all those actions give temporary stress relief, but don't solve issues and cause problems to expand exponentially to the point they are no longer manageable.

I caused a messed up problem and I'm trying to erase it. It's hard to stay calm, I wish I could time travel

Ah. In this case you have to talk to anyone directly impacted, explain how you messed up, take accountability, and ask those most impacted what you should do to make things go to normal.

I already reached out. Revealing the truth will make matters worse. I probably have to stay alert for years till the people involved grow up and stop doing "it." I really wish I could time travel

you gotta tell us.

anyway, all you can really do is keep walking around and thinking. just keep moving and keep thinking. as long as you can still move and breathe it's not over yet.

Thanks for the advice, anon. I'll do this. Can you help with 1 more thing? I feel immense guilt because of the messed up situation I created, how do I handle that?

It sounds like they are stuck in a cycle, so the truth is probably the only thing that can fix this.
>>82260227
Telling the truth is genuinely the only way to fix guilt. It is your brain saying you did something wrong. You just have to hope they forgive you.

I can't rely on that. It might bring other, innocent people in 'danger'

Unfortunately you are going to have to deal with them. You cannot fix the issue without engaging with them. You are focused too much on trying to fix the issue while feeling comfortable, instead of how to fix the problem. That is no longer possible. You will be uncomfortable until the problem is solved. Fixing the issue is how you will stop feeling guilty, and running from it will cause it to get worse or lead to dead end solutions.

This is why it's best to not mess around with the things that are keeping mentally ill people stable, or really deal with the mentally ill at all unless you know exactly how that person works. Assuming that is why you are so nervous. Painful life lesson I suppose.

I need to be calm. Or else things will get messy. I seriously can't tell them the truth or they'll antagonize me more (and doxx me).

What did you do to this person? Even crazies don't do that.

You sort of have to, they are not likely to dox you unless you ruined their life. Even if they do, the problems caused by that go away within a month if you lay low and don't have large skeletons in your closet.
