I'm a 2nd gen Chinese American and my parents forbid me from race mixing. I'm only allowed to date FOB Chinese international students, they don't even want me to date Asian American girls

I don't care about race all that much, its just that based on my interactions I find it kinda hard to talk to or relate to them. A lot of them have very similar worldview as my parents, which I can't stand, and I think that's exactly why my parents want me to only date them

Oh I am perfectly aware of that, I just want to be with someone who at least grew up in similar environment as I do and can relate to my perspectives on things, that's why I have nothing against dating Asians who grew up in the States, but my parents are even against that

My dad was a first gen coptic egyptian american chad and married a non orthodox aryan white woman, much to the dismay of his brothers and parents. Every second gen Asian I've known (and many first gen Asians too) don't seem to have this issue at all, though they mostly date white people or other Asians

I'm starting to see a lot more Asians (men and women) date non-whites and nonasians these days
