I feel really nervous, because I feel like nobody will understand where I'm coming from when I say I find Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Ojamajo Doremi, and Precure more girly than Tokyo Mew Mew
Part of why is I don't find environmentalism and animals to be particularly girly themes, the outfits don't feel as girly, and the series has more of a sci-fi vibe with the Mew Mews even getting their powers from science

in terms of girliness:
sailor moon > ojamajo doremi > cardcaptor sakura > precure > tokyo mew mew

Ha, I don't remember Power Rangers that well to be honest. I just remember the rubber suited monster people and the fight sequences - lots of sparks and such, very fun. I saw Psycho Goreman recently and got reminded of the Power Rangers type stuff which was somewhat nostalgic. Too bad that they didn't do a good collab, sounds like it's just a cash grab.

Oh, I liked Dead Alive though it was a little too silly at times for me. I tend to prefer more depressing fare like Eden Lake. Do you like stuff like 964 Pinocchio? It's been on my watch list a while but I've never gotten around to it. The Japs are great at making absolutely insane splatterfests.

Yeah if you like silly then I can see why you like the Japanese stuff more than Western movies. I really like Takashi Miike's stuff like Ichi the Killer which is fairly silly. 964 Pinocchio is Japanese horror punk which is a really interesting genre that I'm trying to get into. Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police are in that genre, but 964 is lower budget and crazier from what I understand. Oh, there's Meatball Machine too which had cool body horror suits, I liked that one a lot even if it was completely nonsensical; silly, but with really great gore.
