Your threads pushed me to buy my first box in more than 20 years, picrel.
First time building something not Lego. The parts don't seem to fit as perfectly, but it was fun all the same.
Anonymous No.82279507 >>82279862
hoboy, guess i signed up to apply 109 stickers

>>82279065
yeah the build feel usually isn't quite as good as real lego, but there's some pretty interesting kits out there if you look.
hope you enjoyed your return to building

Sure did. But I need bigger sets, that one was quick to finish. Next I'm buying the M777 also by Sluban. I'm afraid this might turn into an addiction.

looks very badass anon. have fun with the stickers. where do you even keep all the models you finish building?
Anonymous No.82280182 >>82280268
this build is going quite slow on account of looking for pieces in one big 800 piece gob

>>82279862
>might turn into an addiction
heh heh, yep. better watch out.
at least these knock off kits are more affordable than lego

they're sitting on some counter space in a side closet area.
but space is running out over there

Dividing them by color and then by shape or size beforehand could help.
Anonymous No.82280711
>>82280268
surely it would help.
one thing about the knock off kits is sometimes they just want you to open every bag at the beginning :[

well time to wrap it up for the night.
still a lot of pieces and stickers, hoping to finish in the next session, but we'll see

It's definitely supposed to be Prime. Looks cool though, even if it is a knock off sort of thing. Does it turn into the truck?
Anonymous No.82281953 >>82282097

no. just robot mode.
this was like over $100 cheaper than the lego version.
but i just learned about picrel.

Yo Lego guy, how is the progress going? I don't really do arts and crafts but I got the war for cybertron game recently.

I bought the kits already, its just I need to put them together. I went tanks to trying out ship building. Didn't like it but I am willing to try it again really. Now I am building planes. With planes its just painting and putting the pieces together. Most of the kits come with 2/3 "trees".

hello, anon. done building for the night. just got the torso done, and started building the head.
>war for cybertron
i still have that on my 360 hard drive.
i really liked that game, but it feels a bit rough going back to it these days

>>82282932
what type of kit would you suggest for a 1st timer? i may want to give something other than lego bricks a try some day

I got my war for cybertron for the ps3

Don't get into ships right off the bat. Maybe if you get bored of doing planes/tanks really. First time kit it depends on what you want to do. If you wanna build tanks. Start with either a Panzer or Sherman. Scale size I have built my tanks in 1/35. When I use to build tanks back then. They were 1/48. Planes wise. I just did a cheap kit from Tamiya for like $20 or something. currently building my ww2 planes at 1/48.

Zimmerit?

I am still working on a 1/144 Stuka. I am also now a Zvezda importer to the US, but I am hoarding it as all of my own. And honestly, I would sooner Zvezda than ICM, despite the virtue signalling.

Hello fellow buyer of chinese knockoff but most importantly dramatically cheaper lego crap.

I'm told the actual company is called "Sluban" but whoever it is seems to have other chinese companies who buy their shit, jack up the price a little and then resell it with their sticker on it.
I also assume they're just not allowed to sell these where people would slap their PP for obvious copyright infringement or whatever.
The listing I can find for the OP says "RiceBlock".

I collect and make IBO gundams and was able to recognize the barbatos and vidar at a glance.
I think they may have even cost less than the HGs they're next to.
Each of these lego looking things took me like 5 hours to build and I do kind of like them.

Yeah I used that grey tamiya putty on the tiger. Some of it looks good and some not so much. I mainly wanted to build German tank aces: Michael Wittmann's Tiger "007".
I'd say get any kit that you find interesting really. After I get done with the Tamyia kits (7 ww2 plane kits), I'll just building the Hasegawa kits (3 kits).

I see. Get a Hasegawa 1/48 Exec jets, if you can. They are worthwhile. Also look for the Bandai/Revell/Minicraft GA aircraft.
