Hello. The police have asked me to come and talk to them about a crime that I may or may not have involvement with. Am I obligated to go and if I go do I need to answer any questions?

you are not legally required to tell them shit, if you have to go just say "i don't want to answer anything without a lawyer. Am I being detained/under arrest?" if you're not under arrest/detained i'm pretty sure you don't even have to be there and can just leave, but i'd google that one in your shoes.
You DEFINITELY don't have to talk to them about anything though, that's your fifth amendment right. Lawyers are free i'm pretty sure, at least public defenders. good luck fag lolz

they're lying (which they can and will do) and try and get him down to the station and lock him into a story. It's a very common tactic. Under no circumstances are you required to speak to police, even when under arrest. Make sure also to not start and then stop, the SC has determined that to allowed to be used as an admission of guilt. Don't get rude or anything, just calmly state that you are invoking your right to remain silent.
