>So you want to beg users for money instead of running ads? That's more annoying than ads imo.
It's a lot better. When customers are satisfied, they usually want to pay voluntarily. Like, some music is free and you can opt to pay for it. Many people do.
Ads are cancer.
>Reddit already has that
Yeah but Reddit is cancer. I just checked the front page and it has a Tiktok-like feed of autoplaying videos, ads, politically charged clickbait topics etc. It's trying to make me engage so bad. Sites that try to addict you are bad. It's also not FOSS.
If someone made a non-capitalist version of Reddit that doesn't push you dopamine garbage on purpose, I would give it my approval.
>I'm anonymous to other anons which is the point of this site.
You can have user accounts but also hide your user name from others. A Finnish imageboard named Ylilauta does that. You can either wait before posting or just have a user account. This was implemented to prevent ban evasion. Evading bans on imageboards is piss easy, all you gotta do is reboot your phone.
>Are you not getting that no one is going to use your site? I'm probably your target audience as a tech-savvy imageboard enthusiast and I'm still not interested.
It's never really about the features. You will use whatever site your friends use, or whatever site has interesting discussions or young perky boobs. People are simply not aware of this so they insist the tech has anything to do with it. Your reasons for using 4chan are sentimental and primitive as well. Your "herd" is here, and there is content you like. It has nothing to do with the user account policy or the lack of videos. Moot could implement videos tonight and you'd just accept the video slop.
