is php really worth learning. I keep seeing it come for web development. i don't want to learn that. it sounds ancient. i prefer python (something like django/flask). yes, probably too late to recreate the entire website

Framework shit gets you bloated and heavier websites, but you get to build your site faster. Part of the reason why modern sites are so goddamn slow is that they load entire Python libraries when they only use like one function from it

My site is non-profit. 4chan is a capitalist product that exists only to generate income for its shareholders. Capitalism is the one thing that killed the web and software.

It is stupid to use a website where you are the product. Tiktok is one of the most popular and loved websites in the world. This says a lot about humans. Most people also use Windows and hate Linux.

Your brain has probably filtered it out over the years, but it is a huge downside of this website. Name any other site where every post requires solving a puzzle. How many of them have you solved already? Ten thousand? That's days of your life.

You can have user accounts but also hide your user name from others. A Finnish imageboard named Ylilauta does that. You can either wait before posting or just have a user account. This was implemented to prevent ban evasion. Evading bans on imageboards is piss easy, all you gotta do is reboot your phone.

It's never really about the features. You will use whatever site your friends use, or whatever site has interesting discussions or young perky boobs. We have extended length gif boards and I don't use them. People post mp4 shit here and I never click on them. I literally only want images. I do not want video. I even turned off the shitty YouTube thing I don't want any video on this site I hate it. I want text and I want images and that's it. Frankly I'd be with removing the images even or dropping the max file size down to 128kb.
