I became an lolcow in my friend group. It spread to the town I lived in and to my family(this was a small town in the rural midwest). It got to where I was perpetually being laughed at at work, at school, everywhere I went.
I had to either an hero or leave town. I left town, cut contact with everyone I knew, and started life over. People here in my new town did eventually find out about it, but I can at least have some kind of life.
