Am I a furry if I want to be a dog/cat girl? I don't hate furries, but I don't particularly want to be one. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be someone who had dog characteristics (mostly just the ears and tail and weird dog behaviours since that's what I saw on tv as a kid and in anime)

Nah I think there are catgirl things that arent technically furries. I mean, you'd probably get called a furry if you were public about it, but if you involved yourself in the right communities (with similar people n such) you'd probably find likeminded ppl who understand that you dont identify urself as a furry. It's called a kemonomimi I think??? wanting to be a dog/catgirl and wearing ears/tails n shit. And theyre technically not furries or something.

You daydream about being a dog/cat girl. You will be judged. Bible verses will be flung around, and the flames will rise. Other than that, it's all good. For example rappers. Someone like "Cold Ice" has a small version of himself in his head that he is and wants to be. Yours is just a dog or cat or whatever.
