actual liberal capitalism hasnt existed since 1929, it was replaced with regulated social democratic capitalism and that was later scrapped for neoliberalism. that is where the government is mobilized to serve corporations and help corporations thrive. under a fully automated system, capitalism cannot survive and it wouldn't. but if you keep capitalism and the class structure in place while fully automating, you will wind up with the worst most dystopian hellscape imaginable which would be what i described and this is what we are heading towards.

so with that in mind, why do you think a fully automated world where the capitalist structure is maintained would require consumerism? the billionaires right now want to make a world where the productive capacity of the world is mobilized for their whims. kind of like how jeff bezos rented Venice for his marriage i think it was? i understand capitalism very well, it is unnecessary in a fully automated world where you have absolute power concentrated amongst the oligarchs that produced the robots and the only function of this system is serving the whims of the oligarchs. this is the expressly stated intended goal of people like curtis yarven, who are thought leaders among the tech bros. you are a disposable serf to them, they want you to be a slave, not a robot waifu enjoyer.

Both Bezos and Elon need money for the energy to keep those robots maintained, their factories running and materials for R&D to produce those things they want.

Where do they get the money? Consumers. Not robots. Robots are still a monetary drain, just less of a monetary drain than jeets. Unless somehow, they develop robots that don't rely on battery power or any other form of physical sustenance.

Unless you're implying all billionaires will now live off already realized capital and never make a single cent more in their lifetime which is retarded. Sounds like a surefire way to make yourself poor in the event of a rainy day.

Here's the problem, filthy rich capitalists won't allow that to happen. We need a government if we don't want complete anarchy and if wealthy and influential people don't have a layer of economic control over that government then they will lose all of their influence. They will lobby hard to keep that influence.

I think it's more realistic that we will live in a technocracy or even a corporatist government not unlike the one we have now but far less authoritative over the free market, maybe even a techno-feudalist society with a CEO in charge. Think about how in Cyberpunk 2077 tech implants, plastic surgeries, drugs, etc, are all freely available to the general population so long as they have the money. So a lot of people will probably live in squalor, but others will go to corporation-run academies in order to be brainwashed into a corpo wagie. Those corpo wagies will probably gain a lot of disposable income which will then be inevitably siphoned off into their own company's treasury as the company starts to egregiously fund their employees lifestyles, keeping them out of poverty. The corporations will take the place of the government in most areas. So the class system will probably become far more extreme and diversified, but it will be better than what we have now because we only have a two class system these days, the middle class is almost finished and will die with the boomers.

I don't see AI replacing labor ENTIRELY, I do however see it automating all of the low-skill jobs non-whites take. Corporations will still need managers to oversee their robot workers, and they will still need directors and accountants to run their projects. This might become less of a factor in the very distant future, but for the slightly closer future, I think this is far more probable.
