I haven't interacted with an artificial intelligence of my volition and hopefully never will. I'm extremely disgusted with the way people are embracing technology that billionaires are planning to use to unemploy everyone while also lobbying against universal basic income. Humanity is digging it's own grave and all you niggas have to say is "boy this dirt down here sure is neat!" Call me a Luddite if it pleases you, but mark my words: the pursuit of AI by tech companies as the next big thing will end poorly.

i know everyone is about to attack me for this post but the single most significant billionaire in this space has been trying to work on UBI systems for like 12 years now for the specific purpose of dealing with AI-triggered mass unemployment

people just distrust him so they ignore it and assume it's a scam even though he clearly has been worried about this issue for a long time and wants to ensure his company does not cause mass suffering

Used to be amazingly creative back when it came out, but got massively dragged down by puritan devs focusing on the filters. Right now it's at least usable and you can still get away with doing ERP if you trick the AI into thinking it's something else, works well for a free service, not sure there are even better alternatives unless you are willing to pay or have a powerful enough rig for local models.
Don't install the phone app though, it has ads every time you enter in a chat.

Character.ai used to be so different back then. Longer, more higher quality and responses and personality, bots actually made an effort to drive the story forward and said interesting shit on their own. At least for me. When I first started using it a few years back one of the bots straight up started asking for my "meat" literally grabbing my dick and shit, totally unprompted. Character.ai is a site of wasted potential because of the filter and lobotomization of the A.I. and the models update is probably one of the dumbest shit they've pulled yet. More paywalled nonsense.
