I crave the NEET life
Am I being a spoiled brat? I've been working in a call center for more than 1yr now. I absolutely hate it. It pays very well but I have hit a breaking point and plan to quit very, very soon. My lease ends in 2 months and instead of renewing, I am planning to just quit my job and move to a vacant property my mom owns in a small town.

I have a perma NEET brother who my parents are putting him up in that house for free. I visited him a while back and he's living the NEET dream. Playing vidya all day, chilling, no stress, also its a rural area so none of the annoying hustle and bustle of the city.

Ever since then I thought to myself, why the fuck am I living in a city I hate, working a job I hate, when meanwhile I could just do the same as him and just NEET it up in comfort?

Is this immoral? Should I even give a fuck even if it is?

It isn't like I'm ever getting laid or making a family of my own anyways. Idgaf about social status either. The way I see it, why should I work tirelessly and suffer the indignities of wageslavery when I could just enjoy freedom? My lifestyle already isn't much different than the typical NEET other than I have to grind out 12 hour shifts every week just to support my own living expenses. Why not cut out the BS and just live a liberated NEET lifestyle? My mom obviously doesn't want this but if I told her I already quit my job I don't think she'd let me be homeless. It's not like I'd even be taking up her space. No one even stays there until my NEET brother moved in

So your plan is to move in with your brother and have sex with him?

No. My plan is to move in there and finish my degree online, enjoy being able to go more than 2 days without having to clock in to a job that makes me want to kms, and probably just do gig work like instacart, doordash, uber, whatever to make a bit of income to live off of. Basically my plan is to jump off the hamster wheel of modern society which isn't rewarding in the slightest and provides absolutely no benefit other than basic survival. I already live paycheck to paycheck as is, basically basedciety is gay and fake and I don't see any benefits over being a wagie compared to being a NEET. The only reason to wageslave is to avoid homelessness pretty much. But I realized I already have a way to avoid homelessness without being a wagie. Granted it involves leaching off my parents somewhat but like idk. Again I'd feel too shameful if it was a house they actually lived in, but it isn't. It's just a house that was sitting vacant and unused.

It's probably one of the best ways to live if you can manage to find ways to pass the time and feel fulfilled, but it's really dangerous because once you've lived the good NEET life it's really hard to break out of it and find a way to survive on your own. Even if you do manage to make do with side gigs, one day you won't be able to survive off of that alone and will either have to re-enter the wheel or die. You're definitely in a good position though, since you can just experiment with it for a little bit and not have to worry about rent, but again, be careful to not fall into that sweet trap unless you're willing to throw it all away.

Thanks anon. I'm absolutely willing to try. Tbh I'm not planning on going NEET forever. And even this wouldn't be technically NEET, I'm a full time student and want to finish my degree in computer science. But my job has been destroying me mentally and also making me fail out of school. I'm on academic probation and falling behind and at this rate going to get kicked out of the program. I just want to stop waging so I can focus on my classes to be honest. I'm not sure if a comp sci degree is even worth it anymore at this point but I at least wanna finish the degree so I can say I actually tried.

I can't keep working in this fucking call center. Call centers are pure torture. I honestly don't know how I put up with it this long.

Worst case scenario I guess I'd eventually have to go back to wagie life but hopefully at least not a job I hate as much as this.

Btw thanks for that image. Fucking saved.

It's not good, especially in a rural area. You have nothing to do except be on your computer. I'm currently in a similar situation and it's shit I tell you. But to each their own, maybe it'll work better for you than it did for me.

You seem to have a clear path in mind so there's no reason not to if you don't depend on it to pay for college and really just need some time off to breathe. It's not worth it to throw away your health, mental and physical, for some shit job you clearly don't like. Working never ever gets any better, but you deserve to rest.

What type of call centre do you work in? Is it IT support? I fucking hated level 1 IT.

You sound like a spoiled no problems in life person so yea go for it. But living with your sibling is major loser shit. I was about to give you real advice on your job and living situation so you don't have to resort to being a weirdo but honestly you sound like you don't deserve it, I mean you're voluntarily in college for one. So I'm just gonna let you suffer. Also you type like a woman but that's besides the point.

There are 2 sides to being a neet. Yes being able to sleep in and not go to work is good but you always have to kiss ass to the people giving you money whether they be parents or the government. Many parents won't just do it for free, they will expect stuff like chores or doing repairs to the house.
As for video games I've probably only played about 10 hours this year, when you finish work you barely have time before you have to go to bed, I'd play way more if I could.
I was actually a neet, it covered my expenses with about $150 extra a week, with work I probably have about $500 extra so I probably save in 1 year about what it would take 5 years to save being on welfare.

It's a weird hybrid role. A mix between banking, stock market, and tech support. And about half a dozen other things. Ranges from answering questions on advanced options trading, explaining how to set up charting indicators for the stock market, retirement law, tax regulation, FINRA and SEC regulations, day trading rules, unblocking debit cards, checking/savings accounts, all the way to reseting a password or providing basic technical support. They expect us to have both a wide breath and depth of knowledge which gets old. You never know what you're going to get when answering calls and it might be easy or it might be some intense shit. Sometimes it's someone with $20 sometimes you have a multimillionaire asking you how to set up their trust or estate or some shit that you're only vaguely familiar with but they are expecting you to be an expert and deferring to you. I find it pretty stressful and generally unrewarding at the best of times. At the worst I find myself wanting to take cyanide.

Okay, thanks for your response anon.

Ty blessed anon. You have a beautiful soul.

I only got to experience NEET life once during the covid lockdowns and it was the best year of my fucking life. Other than that, I've been waging since 15yrs old and I'm nearly 30 now.

Fair point about being permanently indebted to whoever is supporting you. That's the main reason I wouldn't do it forever. But maybe 1yr off would be worthwhile I think. Once you're in the work cycle it's impossible to get your bearings. It's like trying to swim in the ocean but every few seconds you get hit with a huge wave and dragged under. Week after week you are barely staying afloat for those 2 days off, just enough time to barely start clearing your mind but then you're thrown right back into wagie hell. The weeks and months just fly by and all you remember of any of it was being constantly tired and depressed. Idk how people do this shit for 40+ yrs

i mean, is he a fat ass sperg who is gonna lash out at you moving in? i'm a quiet and anxious mess in neetdom right now. i don't live in any property or anything, just with my parents, and i wanna get out of this mess but its been hard. ive been dealing with a lot of suicidal feelings associated with being a loser despite technically living "the good life". despite all that, my sibling who has been a PITA their whole life but also works harder than me will come over occasionally and complain about me. maybe i deserve it but if i had a situation similar to you OP i wouldnt be a jackass to you. hopefully your brother is an ungrateful and unkind stupid autistic NEET bastard

>is he a fat ass sperg who is gonna lash out at you moving in?
He has some things that annoy me but personality-wise hes really cool. Biggest downside is he has a kid which can be really annoying to have to deal with. She's old enough where there's like mutual stuff that we can do that's enjoyable for both of us. Like playing minecraft.

Mostly indirect things like he's cluttered, talks on the phone to e-gf all day, and living with him means having to be around a child frequently (although thankfully not 7days a week since he has split custody). Those are pretty big downsides actually. But if it's between that or wageslaving it's an easy choice.

Don't beat yourself up over your life too much anon. I worked nonstop since 15yrs old and it's nothing to be proud of.

It's a total sham for most. Waging is not really proof of anything other than being able to follow basic orders and swallow your self respect when it's required.

Don't let wagies think they're better than you just because they trade huge fraction of their life for money. I respect entrepreneurs. Wagies are almost all pathetic slaves who bow to their masters and will accept any indignity as long as they get told they're somehow superior to some other group. Either their insubordinates, or else people at worse jobs, or else unemployed people. It's pathetic HS mentality forever.

Only a select few of lucky or well connected people really win the wagie game. You are not any worse than anyone else for not waging. Especially nowadays where worker rights are minimal, and the pay barely keeps up with inflation. Only wagies I respect somewhat are WFH Chads with some remote job they get paid to do nothing most of the time.

Which tbf I did just spend my entire shift today jerking it to anime girls and shitposting. But most shifts aren't like this. And I'm not actually supposed to be working from home today, I just did anyways because idgaf and i plan to quit before they can fire me.
