Really? I've had the opposite experience. I would consider most of my family members to be normal(they have jobs and social lives), and they're always the ones talking-usually complaining-about politics or something going on the news. I'm usually the one that's out of the loop on most stuff. I don't really look at news or /pol/, so I miss a lot of it
