A man in a 2 income household where his wife works, can afford to work for less in a home that doesn't rely on him being the only provider, and that pushes wages down. That, and shipping off manufacturing jobs has made it harder for men to provide with their work.

The ideal model for my shit wagie life is to find a girl who wages and pools with me. I pay all my bills but barely have money for saving. Maybe food and electricity costs go up a bit, but our monthly housing costs are cut in half, repayment of the debt, and savings, can take effect. The two of us climb the property ladder into something where we can grow a good bit of our own food, offgrid as much as possible, and make a little money taking some value-added to the farmer's market. We can settle the wagie wife into running the homestead and waging from home.

The other model, which is less exciting and more cucked, is to get the wagie wife and savings max while living in my poor house. Save 15k a year by pooling incomes as above, and put it in a bond income fund and earn 5% a year. Not even compounding, that's $75k in savings and a $312 monthly income. Do that for 15 years, $225k, and a $936 monthly income. Then we can sit on our savings and buy my wife her ability to housewife if she wants.
