It really is. The internet puts a lens of scrutiny over the BBC and has exposed it as the propaganda arm of the British government it is time and time again, yet you have Brits sitting there telling you without a hint of irony that the BBC being funded by taxes means they are held to higher standards and have to apologize when they're caught lying. This is bullshit because they lie in the interest of Westminster all the fucking time.
I grew up watching a lot of British comedy shows and the BBC had all the funny ones. Now they don't. Instead their "comedy" is preachy garbage and they only platform "diverse" comedians whose talent seems to be their willingness to preach whatever unfunny bullshit the BBC has decided is acceptable. Channel 4 isn't much better in that regard.
Even their animal documentaries have fallen off in quality. I know we couldn't have Sir David Attenborough forever, but even Planet Earth II was really fucking preachy about human involvement about climate change.
The BBC fucking sucks now and has for a long time.
