There are far more reproductively capable male at any given time compared to females. Male persistent attraction of female was needed to compete and to impregnate as there are only 2-5 days a month when it can happen and even then it's 30% chance. Short term fuck and run was not a good evolutionary strategy. Male love had reasons to develop to mate guard to make sure you are not raising other men's children and provide nutrients she can't get for herself during pregnancy and after until the kid has reasonable chance of surviving to adulthood. In tribe setting a women would always be taken care of, so specific love affection on one had no particular reason to develop other than general familiarity and friendship.

Post feminism societies have shown and are showing women's true nature. Romance is a male invention used to cope with the brutal truth about how women are and behave. Concepts such as "love" and "the one" are pure, undiluted cope.

I hate it, and I wish I could be free to really love a woman, and be able to show my weak side to her, and grow together through mutual understanding and support, but that's not happening. It makes me feel profoundly sad

Yes, yes I have. I like to think we can still have truly equal dynamics these days, but it's not happening by accident any time soon. When backed into a corner, people will default to power dynamics if it's in their favor. And these days that usually means the guy. Or at least, the one with the money.
