That's not actually true. Pornhub never really had a CP "problem" so to speak. They were actually quite good at moderation, better than many major social networks. The purge came as a result of then pressure put on them by their payment processors to implement some sort of age verification method after an expose was published in the NYT about the dangers of Pornhub, an expose which was later revealed to have been connected to Exodus Cry, a Christian organization whose overall mission ultimately is to end sex work entirely as well as make pornography and recreational sex outside of marriage completely illegal. They also want to make strip clubs and the like illegal as well.
The campaign was highly successful, but the ironic part is that the channel they focused on that DID have a CP problem was called Girls Do Porn, which, ironically, was a verified channel. Lol.
So Pornhub had no choice but to purge millions of videos from its site -- about 3/4s of everything it had -- which got misreported as Pornhub "deleting millions of CP videos," when in actuality, they was very little CP on Pornhub before all the age verification stuff began.
This all started over five (5) videos. Not 500, not 5 million. Five.
