Women never really have to develop charisma or charm because they are already the gatekeepers of all in-group social clout by default. It's like the kid who was naturally smart in grade school and understood/remembered things instantly, and so they never developed study habits because they never had to try academically during those formative years.

Humour is a coping mechanism. Laughter is a stress or anxiety response. Men typically have to cope with their suffering via humour whereas women tend to have support networks.

Consider that, while out hunting, or while at war with another tribe, it was likely a man would see the most obscene and horrifying things. He'd see his friend disemboweled by a lion and would just have to live with that image, and making light of it was a way of dealing with that. I remember my great-great uncle was telling me a story about some war he was in, can't remember what, and he said that one of his friends stuck his head out of cover and immediately had the top half of his head blown off. My great-great uncle laughed a bit, then said "poor guy" and finished his story.

Humour is a coping mechanism. Women rarely have to cope with things the way men do. When a woman is upset, she is allowed to cry and be upset. Men just cope.

either you didn't notice or you're trying to be sneaky but the pic your posted was from the PSAT/NMSQT part and not the SAT part, where the difference is higher.
And obviously the difference get even more significant when looking at the distrubution of high scores, where 11% of boys and 7% of girls got over 700, I'd expect it to be even more significant when you get closer to perfect scores.

it's not fair, but there's something lacking in women comedians. To be truly hilarious requires a natural animal magnetism that few people have. They are almost exclusively men who have it. They can make something funny with an expression, an inflection in their voice, a look in their eye, some subtle things in the way they present themselves. Most men can't do it either, it's just that the people who can do it, are almost always men.

You have to radiate a masculine demeanor and certain traits that women don't have. Some women are quirky, good at storytelling and know how to surprise people without being politically correct, just talking about vaginas or bashing incels or whatever but that's kinda rare. They've never had to be good at humor to get by in life. For men it's almost a survival mechanism and they have natural advantages. It's impossible to catch up in an environment like that, it's like expecting women to do well in male sports.
