Why is /r9k/ full of tankies? Is it because most robots are low income?
A lot of /r9k/ and organic 4chan posters in general are parts of "splinter groups" or "second societies."
Essentially, they're people who were alienated by the primary society of their community, and formed groups with other alienated and non-conformist people. This led them to evade popular beliefs, indoctrination, and values. This is why many people in these splinter groups align away from center politically. Public education and popular media is absolutely produced with the intent to push a narrative that benefits the ruling elite. When people are not a part of the proverbial masses they are not as heavily influenced by these tactics.
After the 2016 US Presidential election, 4chan has primarily been frequented by people who are NOT a part of this original alienated group. As much as they want to believe otherwise, most Trump supporters and members of MAGA were not alienated by society originally. Almost all Trump voters are a part of the primary society and were influenced by a populist movement engineered specifically to appeal to the largest group of people possible. It was only after the rise of radicalism in in right-wing and conservative groups did Trump voters begin to be pushed out by the primary society. Thus, forcing them to migrate here.
Post-Trump politics are not "normal." The Overton Window has been destroyed, and what is now being perceived as "reasonable conservatism" is actually fringe, far-right authoritarianism. The "tankies" you are seeing are 4chan's digital indigenous people. The actual outcasts that originally made up 4chan's population. Anyone that is in the same situation as one of these people who fails to study and grasp leftist politics are acting against their own best interests.
While I am not a true communist personally, I'm more of a labor-centric leftist, I implore you to at least give the Communist Manifesto a scan and absorb some 1800's Russian fiction to see a perspective that isn't just Capitalist-designed brainwashing.
