You're not climbing elite level climbs. The "problems" amount to having a moderate degree of body awareness, and you just end up using the same selection of about a dozen moves. Personal preference aside, t's no less boring than running or any other exercise.

Yes, I do that; but figuring that out in intermediate climbs is not some complex puzzle that climbers like to claim it is. In the context of a comparison to running, it's about the same level of thought. For instance, if you're running on a trail, you have to be thinking where to place your feet on each step, what kind of stride length to take at various points, how fast you should go up/down a hill, etc. In both cases, it's all fairly natural, and doesn't require some high degree of analyticity.

Might depend on where the club is. UK scene: at one end clubs have members ranging from national level athletes down to those out for a chat and maybe a trot round in a local XC league. These will have training groups on all surfaces catering to different ages and abilities. At the other you have small village/town clubs that will concentrate on park runs and road races.
Advantage of clubs that do track as well as road is that you can try out sprints, jumps and throws in training, which might suit some fitizens more than plodding along.
Socially, we all chat to each other and occasionally go for a meal or end up in a cafe or pub after training (depends on club tbf).
As far as meeting women, DON'T join just for that as they will spot it immediately and you will get an iffy rep: they all chat, particularly in training and in the stands at matches and all those <30 are on snapchat... Then again, things do happen and I have seen some unlikely parings over the years.

They are not all serious and a lot of the older clubs (19th century) do have a more social/casual end to them (its a PITA as a team manager trying to encourage a lot of them to race at all). A lot of the smaller 'Facebook' clubs are extremely casual (my local one is stacked full of doctors talking shop...) and primarily social or fir people just looking for a bit of fitness. Don't know any that are for hooking up.

Don't do this unless you're in extremely good shape. If you're ugly I highly recommend Picking up skateboarding , rollerblading, or iceskating instead. If you can get good at it, you WILL pull girls in those circles.
