It would be the same thing as blaming loneliness or mental illness on these shootings and murders. These might compound an already messed up situation and affect an already vulnerable person in a bad way, but they alone are not what cause these things. Rape and murder existed long before there was a modern society that had people lonely and mentally ill. Look at someone like Eliot Rodgers. Not only were they mentally ill but they had deep personality issues that were more of what fueled his problems than the mental illness.
