I'll answer seriously even though it's already insanely obvious. People commit gun crimes because of a POWER GAP. Like how criminals with a knife attack unarmed people it's due to a POWER GAP. If the opponent had a sword or a knife they would not try.

Tightening gun control only makes the problem worse.
