Not sure what I did wrong here, frens. I'm friends with this girl I also work with. We've been really close for two years. I've always had a bit of a crush on her and I thought the feeling might be mutual. Even our friends would say we looked cute together and encouraged me to ask her out.

So one day, I took the risk and asked her out. She told me she just wanted to be friends. I was pretty crushed and ended up feeling depressed, so I didn't talk to her for a few days.

Then at work, she asked why I wasn't texting her or why I seemed to be avoiding her. I told her I was feeling down and depressed (which was true) and that I just needed some time before I could talk again. After that, I noticed she was acting weirdly kind of passive aggressive. After I got home, she sent me some angry texts. The next day, she said she wasn't mad but didn't want to talk to me anymore.

I was already feeling like shit and this whole situation just made it worse. I really don't understand what she expected me to do. Should I have never asked her out?
