This is probably true. 1123 saw the outlawing of married priests, but the ruling was largely ignored, and it wasn't until the 1500s when 50% of the priests/bishops were unmarried. I haven't looked into Christian theology enough to really have an opinion. I was raised Catholic but I disagreed with some of the views and teachings. I looked a bit into Orthodoxy and listened to what some Orthodox priests had to say and I think that I more closely align with Orthodoxy than Catholicism.
But I remember a priest saying once that you should never say that you're going to hell, because you don't know that and you're judging yourself instead of letting God being the judge. Also that it upsets God cause hell is the last place he wants any of us to go to. All I know is that all we can do is wait and see what happens after we die.

It's worth a look, getting into theology I knew I could only be either catholic or orthodox, because I believe there's one true church, and communion is literally Christ, the part that tipped me to orthodoxy was mainly continuity, and how they have a logical explanation for the afterlife; when you die you are disembodied, thus in the presence of God, when in the presence of someone, your experience of your time there is defined by your relationship with the person, put me in a room with my best my friend, and I'm chilling, put me in a room with my worst enemy, and I'm going to be boiling with anger and in pain, that is heaven or hell, they believe in one place after death, that and also I think original sin makes no sense, it's worth a look if you're interested

Which Teachings out of curiosity? I only recently found out even some Bishops/Cardinals disagree with loads of it, namely the teaching on Birth Control (look up the Majority Report).

I'm very loosely attached to it now because they do nothing to help me with any problem, but the second I started working they had their hands out donations.
