It became mainstream, not in the sense of the "ideology" or the acronym but the behavior. This wasn't even really a result of the practitioners managing to get their message to spread or anything, but more so just the overall direction of society trending towards more isolation and worse gender relations, leading to a bunch of men no longer pursuing women either at all or at least not as actively. There's also some overlap with the blackpill which allowed for a certain level of cross-pollination.
