You can't be 14 in highschool, you could be 15 maybe but 13 - 14 - 15 are grades 7, 8, 9 and middleschool. 10th grade highschool freshman year is normally when you start 15 and turn 16 that year.

Since birthrates are declining it's typical that MOST highschoolers are age 18 or 17 with less and less at lower ages.

Due to the crash in the number of kids most previous middleschools and highschools got turned into combination single grades 7, 8, 9 + 10, 11, 12 schools. There are less than half the number of total kids so these schools are called "highschools" but they're actually middle+highschools.

middle / junior high (7, 8, 9)
high (10, 11, 12)

Many variations do exist with minor adjustments. The basic idea though is to divide by age into groups more similar than they are different. Serious education begins in highschool, middleschool is mostly about basic education and elementary tends to be primary education such as simple reading and writing or mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Middleschool tends to incorporate social studies, chemistry, geography, history, literature and art. Mathematics include subjects such as fractions, algebra, trigonometry and complex numbers.

Highschool gets more serious introducing actual subjects such as english, alternative language programs, electronics, introductory calculus and so on.

Nothing will "make" you happy. The military can provide you with stuff, if you're smart about it. I joined the army out of high school, like the first anon my parents weren't great. The army gave me a few role models, kept me active, thought me some resilience and paid me. It also permanently damaged my back and knees, but I've also been injured doing sports so it's not unique to the military. Anyway, figure what you want out of the experience. You'll probably lose weight during training but you'll have opportunities to be a fat fuck once you get to your unit if you eat like shit and drink too much, it happens a lot. Understand what you need to do to get your "college" education, what strings are attached etc. Think about the opportunity costs - is this your most beneficial option? Any service will wear your body down and expose you to sleep deprivation and long bouts of malnutrition.

Assuming the latter. Firstly, 14 isn't high school here. For us it's 15-18. But uh.. at 14 today.. Idk. Take my studies seriously and try to get fast-tracked into uni early. If I can get in by 15-16, that'll make quite a splash and ensure I have a degree and some renown (in my little social/academic circle) before turning 20. That's a good place to start.

Where? A lot of school districts maintained the old 1950s style and never swapped grades around. Some of these schools are build in the 1970s or such and they were all planned out on the old systems. They'll be demolished and never rebuilt because there are too few kids - most kids are getting moved onto homeschooling or similar in most rural locations.
