It's not gen-x anymore anon, certainly not boomer era.
The majority of those chicks from your generation are living in poverty and will never have kids or own a house.
They're still holding out for the guy who will provide that for them, and back in the old days they would have found that guy, but nobody has told them civilization has collapsed so they'll be waiting forever.
Eventually they'll figure it out. I figure the revolution will start soon after.
