Addressing the abuse of the H-1B visa is important, but it will take them passing a similar law that dissuades offshoring and I'll raise an eyelid

Education is way cheaper in India.
US companies offshore to Indians who could legitimately pay around $1,000 USD for a 4-year computer science degree. I also don't know about the efficiency of Indian higher education, but I'm going to assume that they don't waste your time with frivolous class requirements that have nothing to do with your major.
If you're in the position to do it, it's a boneheaded simple +EV proposition for both the US company and the Indian. The US company pays next to nothing for the labor, and the Indian gets a disproportionate salary and contributes to his country being a shithole.
Indians actually live in a "just-learn-to-code-bro" age right now because of this.
