this was the last time european men had strength. 100 soviet or nazi soldiers could possibly defeat 10k modern european "men" if they had the same weapons

americans who went to the pacific back then actually lamented the fact that they were fighting japs instead of the cool big bad nazis.

what's funny is that when 8yo me played cod waw, despite no prior knowledge or even knowing what ww2 even was i had the same feeling. cod waw was my first exposure to japan and i saw it as nothing but another boring asian country like vietnam.

>Why?
We gotta pay this nips back for Pearl harbor you know? But for real it was more for how they got bombers to fit on aircraft carriers And how crazy the idea the raid was but they did it anyway. Ok, being honest it was because of the Micheal Bay movie.

In the same boat to be more interested in the USS, but the IJN is still kino too, they gave us a pretty good fight before they got lobotomized by American dive bombers.

There;s a michael bay movie on it?
and yeah i never considered the logistics of it, it was a pretty insane move though at that time japan was pretty much out of air superiority, and I still to be honest Pearl Harbor was one of the most insane attacks ever, would highly recommend Tora Tora Tora, I can't believe the japs almost went through with it, the crazy thing is they were suicidal but was winning for a bit, hong kong same day, philliphines, didn't really turn until midway then it was nothing but misery for them, I really like that battle, turns out intercepted code can change everything, the japs had an overly elaborate plan that maybe would have worked (even if they did US probably just would have built more ships lol) but they got interrupted mid chess move, a reminder of how war really works

It was a really bad movie, I only paid attention to the military propaganda "tough tight knit bro brothers cool guy" parts lol, I should've watched Tora Tora Tora before that piece of work. Iirc the IJN was caught changing bomb types for their planes, that specific moment combined with a few lucky pilots made a pretty big boom. I honestly love the naval war so much bro, there was luck, courage, and a sort maritime chivalry that is so good

yeah pacific is pure kino, the way it was fought...i mean the pacific is fucking enormous people don't realize how large it was, moments of calm interrupted by devastation

I still like eastern front though that was pure meatgrinder, that's more the pure existentialist war for survival type vibe, but pacific is chill and kino (chill compared to western, vVERY CHILL compared to east...)

The strictly ordered society with clear rules and ordnung that is often portrayed in nazi propaganda appeals to certain autistic brains.
The huge amount of technological advancements during that period appeals to more technology minded autists.
Like LOTR, the "plot" of WW2 is full of lore and history preceding the events. Autists love lore.
The idea of a stereotypical manly WW2 soldier gives them a kind of role model. They want to be like them because they want to be normal, but they don't fit in with society's current idea of "normal". They look to the past and develop a caricaturized ideal of what a man should look and act like, not realizing that they would have the same difficulties navigating social nuances as they do now.

Anonymous No.82559642 [Report]
it was an auspicious moment in human history, a very brief technological period just before nuclear weapons were developed when battleships sailed with aircraft carriers and where the skill of fighter pilots mattered, it changed everything and set the stage for the modern world
Anonymous No.82559668 [Report]

They're not wrong. In ww2 suddenly men became valuable to society, especially autists who were capable of fixating on some task. The experience and status as ww2 veterans would compensate for their lack of "social nuances". It is less a power fantasy and more a fantasy of being socially accepted.

Because it is THE recent and significant turning point of our history.
And as the West won the Cold War, but sold out to the globalists and Red Chinese anyway, it is pretty clear now that the wrong side won.

For me it's the role model thing this anon said, i don't care if it's childish or cringe it helped me a lot in life. That war is one of the worst to be a soldier in and i feel like all the soldiers on all sides are underappreciated for their bravery and what they went through, especially on the eastern front.

because everyone's heard of it and a lot of crazy shit happened before during and after it, and you can pretty much divide history into pre- and post-war eras?

because it was the largest war weve had, theres so much that went into it so its genuinely interesting, its not even a le autism thing. Find me a man irl who doesn't have a slight interest in ww2, ive never met him, ever single man at one point has been curious about ww2.

was watching a documentary about the cleanup operations post stalingrad which was interesting, talking about how some of the 6th army despite staying in the ruins managed to escape and evade capture. Its insane to read about how many men were involved and died at these battles. I'm quite interested in U-boats at the minute. I dont even consider myself a ww2 autist either, its just an interesting topic.

Anonymous No.82561809 [Report]
>>82559228 (OP)
For me it's an interesting topic
I like to learn about both perspectives on the conflict
What really drove more to it was the fact how one-sided the official retelling of it is
Nazis were le evil demons wearing human skin and the Allies were heckin wholesome chungus angels who dindu nuffin wrong ever
Genuinely pissed me off how blatantly biased the official narrative is so I went into the topic by myself to learn the truth, which is usually found somewhere in the middle of the two extremes
I don't like discussing this topic with normalfags because their programming kicks into high gear if you show a neutral stance. Just saying that neither side was good or evil is enough to turn some people hostile.
