Cheaters get too much of a hard time. Cheaters aren't bad. They're very passionate people whose feelings overwhelm them. Cheaters can be very loyal people. They're willing to hurt others, willing to break societal norms, and willing to stain their soul just to be with that special someone. They aren't loyal to their original partner, no, but their loyalty to the new partner is nothing short of stunning.

There's no contradiction. What I said makes perfect sense.
You move Heaven and Earth to be with your new partner. You nuke your relationship, your relationships with that person's friends and families, and even forever taint your own self-esteem. It's a Scarlet letter evident to both yourself and countless others. You put yourself through immense strain just to be with that special someone.
Typically how it goes is that you date the first person just because they're available. Then you meet someone you truly love and have to be with them no matter what.
You betrayed the first person. The odds of betraying the second are much lower. You sacrificed everything to be with them; that proves your feelings are not weak.

I honestly don't get the big deal with cheating unless it's genuinely falling in love with someone else
if I had a partner and they told me they had sex with someone else behind my back I wouldn't care much as long as it was a one time thing with that person
I would be pretty bumped if they actually did fall for that person though but that would not be for the cheating per se, it would be because now they don't love me anyone and they would leave me to spend their time with someone else but that's completely different than just having sex with someone
