I think they have relationships and stuff. And they feel like some spark and passion for stuff which makes the miserable drudgery worth it. My dad cries while watching sports, he really is genuinely moved by it.

the vast majority of people are willing to settle for "good enough" i.e making just enough to live but not really much beyond that because that would require effort usually
