You don't. One of the things about society they don't tell you is that the Third Place has been dead for like 2 decades now and that making friends as a post-university adult is an extreme rarity. You can get lucky with a cool coworker or you can get lucky by meeting someone through a social hobby like being part of a hiking club or some shit. Maybe it's different outside of the USA, but generally everyone over here is too tired and busy to care about making friends.
