You should try while you're young and ignorant so you don't have regrets later. I tried to be social all throughout my teens and 20s so now in my 30s I know I did all I could and I have the life experience to know I'm not "missing out" and don't have to worry about "what could have been". If you just opt out in your youth then I think you'll get delusional and wound up later on in life thinking "I should have did this this and that!". If you're already in your 30s then ya welcome to being middle aged and getting with the program. It's better to live authentically by yourself than live performatively just to try and fail to have good social experiences. Still lonely and miserable but better than living fake.
