I do however have a problem with their modern acceptance and inclusion of society as just "another way of life"
for a nations future prosperity, its population must grow or at least stay about the same, thus socially you want to promote a way of live for men and women in which they reproduce and raise kids. Social evolution shows that cultures that practice (semi-)monogamic models and family based child rearing (rather than communal based) have historically outperformed competitor strategies.
Basically all advanced cultures have had a concept of marriage between men and women as a core principle of their social upbringing. There was a strong set social expectation that getting married and having kids is the "normal" way of life, and anyone not choosing that path usually faced social repercussions except for special circumstances, usually of religious nature (e.g. monks and nuns)
Individuals that act, or worse yet, publicly promote as viable alternatives, ways of life that do not result in male-female pair bonding, reproduction, and raising of offspring are actively harmful to society.
They should be shamed and excluded from public discourse if they display their alternative ways openly.
They may gather out of view to practice their alternative lifestyles, but it would be harmful to long term social prosperity and stability to in any way socially accept or normalize such behaviors publicly, especially in societies that already struggle with their reproduction and have a fertility rate below replacement level.
