I have a really hard time trusting half the news though. I agree I don't think it's good to be going in on all this, but these companies overhype this shit like crazy at the same time. AI companies themselves trying to sell it's dangerous these things are alive, possibility endless. But I think they're deliberately creating these scenarios themselves. it's basically alive to pump stocks a little more. I'm saying this as someone who hates AI, I just believe more so that corporations are full of shit than the technology is what it's said to be but i don't know

>not secured clamped down plates sometimes
i can see why. it's probably kinda annoying to have to open and close those every time you want to change weights.

>Always got mad when a show I was watching didn't get aired for one I didn't care about.
fair to get mad about that. ruins your whole night. though back than i was just glad to see some more adult oriented shows, so it didn't really matter what it was

>tis unfortunate what anime getting slightly more acceptable has done
being popular and, more importantly, more profitable always ruins everything.

>I don't think it's good to be going in on all this, but these companies overhype this shit like crazy
that's a fair point. it's just that it really shows the flaws in what we value and how we teach it. like, if you tell an ai that only results matter, it'll start to cheat to get the results that are expected from it. it's not the ai's fault that it comes to that conclusion. it's exactly what humans do when faced with similar rules.

it's another example of corporate greed at it's finest. Don't want to risk people making a game similar, we might not be able to profit if we ever decide we're going to make another game possible (they aren't) At least they did it right, unlike Nintendo trying to create a patent after they got pissed someone copied Pokemon even though they've let pokemon be shit for the past 20 years.

>these things are alive
that's the biggest nonsense in all of this. they are as alive as a car that accelerates when you hit the gas or a hammer when you hit something with it. that's why giving them the ability to mimic human behavior and emotions is so deceptive. most people will assume human understanding in a thing that simply doesn't have it and never will have it.

>I just believe more so that corporations are full of shit than the technology is what it's said to be but i don't know
that might be completely accurate, but that's the shitty thing with ai. if you're not in the know, you don't know. one of the reasons u.s military spending is so high is that when an enemy claims they can do something, the u.s. goes and puts something together that can do whatever was claimed and then some. doesn't matter that the initial claim was complete bullshit to begin with. gotta be prepared. same with ai. doesn't matter if it's true or ever will be, but being prepared will hurt less than not being prepared.

the chainsaw man movie. I haven't gone to the movies in almost 10 years now so kinda looking forward to that as well. Tried to get my brother to go, but he said he refuses to go see it with me because of heated differences between us(disagreement on best waifu of course!)
>tired from work and workout. what about you?
about the same. I started working almost 2 hours earlier than normal unexpectedly. Had a nice workout middle of the day, but that was tiring too
>open and close those every time you want to change weights.
yeah, especially with small adjustments. I use adjustable dumbbells for a lot of things, and just gets annoying screwing unscrewing for those
>glad to see some more adult oriented shows, so it didn't really matter what it was
i remember very well I got in trouble for watching dragon ball z and told watching cartoons like that would make me violent.

i'd say i'm glad in the sense i hope kids don't get made fun of for watching like back then (though my parents were the worst about it for me), but I actually don't see it being as popular as people make it out to be online

>>82802472
>as alive as a car that accelerates when you hit the gas or a hammer when you hit something with it.
this is especially true for LLM's, which while impressive and what everyone talks about, aren't the only area of AI. I think conceptually the idea of neural networks are attempting to mimic the brain in a way, so i don't discount the idea of something achieving human like intelligence, just it's definitely not there and think it would be more stumbled into since I think understanding human consciousness is itself a difficult topic, let alone artificially recreating it

Hii cat,
Hello officeanon,
Thanksies for asking.
My day was as uneventful as ever. Been on the job search the past few weeks (without any luck). I still can't decide whether having or not having a job is worse. ;;
Job search aside, feeling mentally like a wreck. I don't even know how to put it into words. Not like anything bad particularly bad happened to me, but I feel like I'm one bad day away from throwing myself in front of a train.
At least I'm physically fine...

>I got in trouble for watching dragon ball z and told watching cartoons like that would make me violent.

yup this too.
the thing with our nature and the amount of possibilities that are different from a human to another is that it's so huge that we might be able to guess that something is going to help somehow, no matter "how" exactly

it's been like that since the beginning of civilization. It's kinda funny cus i can see the wealth gap within my own family, like i'm not poor at all (upper middle class), but my uncle was born to millionaire parents and it really shows, he owns like 6 houses and can afford to do whatever he wants. I assume that only expands exponentially the further you go up with that. I'm just scared that big companies or individuals are gonna be able to exert their power to the point of what feudalism was (private armies/law enforcement in what was basically just one big racketeering operation).

I do wonder if there will be a season 2 or how they'd do it, since there isn't a ton of material in the first part. if anything it'll make it less valid. from what i've seen it just ends up becoming it's own seperate problem and often used as a way to invalidate the reasons you even started to cut. might be a good time to take some time and try to catalogue for yourself how you feel and why that's the case, helps me deal with it personally.

your suffering is valid, cutting doesn't change anything, it just makes everything worse. some people feel better doing it cuz it's another problem, not because it's normal.
